
Harold
grew up on a small cotton farm and attended school in Laurens
County, Georgia. After attending ABAC Junior College in Tifton, GA, the
University of Georgia, and Virginia Tech, he was a faculty member of the
University of Georgia in the Plant and Soil Sciences Department before
retirement.
He attends Tuckston United Methodist Church and read for Learning Ally
once
a week for several years. He has been a member of the Classic City Lions
since 1998 and has served as Tail Twister, Lion Tamer, and President. He
received the Lions’ Melvin Jones Fellowship award in 2001 and was
elected to
the District 18-I Lions Hall of Fame in 2018. Harold and his wife of 63
years,
Pat, have three daughters, four granddaughters and one great-grandson. |
